I know times are tuff, but in our area the Economy is not that bad. All of them are driving new cars, going out to eat a lot and still 2 or 3 vacations a year!

4 elderly sisters cover the whole congregation in donations monthly! We have 74 pubs. We take in $800-1000 a month (3 congregations share the expenses). Nobody uses cash, just checks, so I know.
Only 1 Elder is faithfully giving each month. 2 of them I have only seen give twice in a year. The other 3, NOTHING!!! Only 1 MS have I seen give a check, and it was a one time deal. The other 6, NOTHING!!! Is this just weird or what?

They are having these multiple International Conventions in 2014, I can see a need of not having alot of DC's because of this. Probably the same talks will be given at both.
The article did mention they are coming back in 2015.

Hey, let's get back on point, get off the Captain and flying thing, he did have serious responsibilities in the BORG, and he is no dummy to acheive the things he has done. I want to read his experience!
'From 1957 until 2006, I served in every position of responsibility in congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses and also helped teach several schools for congregation elders and others. I served on judicial committees, was the assembly overseer for circuit assemblies, and was the program overseer for a district convention. I have lectured to tens of thousands of people at many large Witness district conventions....'

i am a regular pioneer in my cong reading crisis of conscience.here goes...
by MsGrowingGirl20 ini'm on page 90 right now...the info is definitely new and gives me a totally diff view as to how i used to think of faithful and discreet slave.
i was thoroughly disgusted with the way the brothers handled the oral sex and leadership problem and the insight on the scriptures book...... still have alot of questions though.

Keep us updated on your progress! I am curious of the thought process and mindset of leaving JW's.

My Judicial committee

i was charged with apostasy, malicous slander, lying, revileing.

This Judicial Hearing just sounds wrong from the get go. I wonder if they "Had Direction" from a higher source like the CO. These grouds for the Hearing sounds baseless. Did they just want to send out a message? What scripture did they use for the Reproof? What was their reason for leaving you in?
The J C for Ray Franz had direction from the Society, because there was no way the local committee able to respond to Franz's questions. This whole experience is just off the chain.
I know of a recent experience in Gadsden AL, where an inactive person was DF for drug use. He was so distraught over this, he murdered his wife and 2 children, then himself before the announcement was made of his DFing. They called the CO and he said to "go ahead and make the announcement".
For what reason?

Bro Wallace was raised in Chattanooga TN by an Aunt. Life was not easy on him as a kid. So you could he is a survivor and made reasonable decisions. He is a really funny guy to talk with. He said of a fellow Elder, "That Brother takes so many pills, he rattles when he walks". He says he get counseled a lot by the Elders, but just smiles at them.

1) He is not a Special Pioneer. He told me that him and his wife is on the "Pioneer Infirm List". You have to be in the fulltime service for 25 years to qualify for this. There is no hour requirement, just "do what you can.
2) His retirement pay, he told me was for his 40 years of being in the "Traveling Work."
3) I only mentioned his name to, to show he is a real person, this is a real experience and to me, that matters!

At a convention recently, I met with Don Wallace, a former CO and DO. He told me he came off the road 6 years ago and is living in Scottsboro AL. Him and his wife are in their late 70's. He told me that he was "One of the Smart Ones". I asked, how so? He said he had planned for his retirement by not taking lavish vacations and saving all his money from close to 40 years in the traveling work, just in case "The End" was not coming. He just sat back watched all the other "Traveling Brothers taking various vacation trips to Europe, Africa, etc. wasting their money".
When he came off the road, he paid for a house in cash! Now, he still has some money in the bank, gets $600 a month from "The Society" and even gets SSI for being employed in the early days. Life is Good!
